Food - Today, I am combining my "dishes" all together. I have reached my 'boiling point' so to speak in this Presidential Campaign and I have found myself unable to prepare the type of feast appropriate to serve you. Today I will be serving up: "Food For Thought" instead of the regular menu, but I will still be serving the dish of Embellish, I think we all need it.
Food for Thought: In America, we have the First Amendment, "Freedom of Speech" that allows us "freedom of expression without Government interference." But can't we just stick to lawn signs, and voting?
The Effigy of Sarah Palin, is it all in the "Spirit" of Halloween. The Los Angeles Sheriff said: " This is not a hate crime."
This isn't the first Effigy, no, there was also one of Obama too. An Effigy of Obama alarms George Fox campus! Students and campus leaders, vowing to work together to fight racism and intolerance. One paper quoted a student: "To me, I just felt that they weren't ready to have a black person running for president," said Courtney Greenidge, 19, an organizational communications sophomore from Clackamus "And I felt like they were just putting our program down because we're here trying to bring change. Obama's trying to bring change."
On one campus this act is said to be a hate crime and on another campus it's not. People are not ready to have a black person running for president, which leads one to also question, does the effigy of Sarah Palin mean we are not ready to have a woman as a Vice President? It's obvious that who you talk to and where you live determines the reaction people will have to both of these situations.
"More Food for thought"
"Freedom of Speech" - yes - or have they taken it to far?
Have we lost our sense of humor and this is just plain funny, or does this cross the line?
Are the candidates leading by good example or are they provoking this behavior by flooding the airwaves with negative campaign ads against their opponents?
Is this a hate crime?
Is this a race crime?
Is this a sexist crime?
Is this a crime?
What are we teaching our children, and their children?
Are people doing these acts just to make "the news?"
Are we pushing the envelope? What's next?
How do parents explain this kind of behavior to their children, isn't Halloween for the KIDS, not the adults?
Here is my advice: Be kind, love one another, be the change you want to see in the world, be law abiding citizens, VOTE, and last but certainly not least: We are all grown ups, we should act like it.

Embellish - We come to reason, not to dominate. We do not seek to have our way, but to find a common way.
