Say it ain't so Joe

Food - The sun is shinning today, which is nice to see as the cooler weather vastly approaches...we still have time to get our last minute yard work done before the first frost comes. After that yard work is finished, you deserve a nice "hot" meal. Here is a recipe for my husbands oven-baked ribs, using none other than; BIG JAKE'S North Woods Style BBQ Sauce.

Danny's Northern Style BBQ Ribs
Ingredients:
3 racks of pork loin spare ribs
1 bottle BIG JAKE'S Hickory Honey North Woods Style BBQ Sauce*
1 bottle Dubs Rubs "5 little Piggy's" Seasoning* or your favorite dry rub.

* Danny uses Hickory Honey, because that is our "original" sauce, and because he is the "original" inventor, but with 4 other great flavors to choose from, you must visit our site: http://www.big-jakes.com/.
* COMING SOON - Dubs Rubs! Dubs Rubs is a full line of seasonings. A brother, if you will, to BIG JAKE - we like to keep it all in the family.

Wash ribs, remove silver skin and re-wash if needed, then pat them dry. Apply dry rub to ribs and wrap in aluminum foil and place in refrigerator over night or at least for an hour, but best if left overnight.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Take ribs out of fridge and let rest for 1/2 hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hours in "Tin Foil" (Tin Foil has now become your best friend) either on a cookie sheet or on oven rack, but be careful not to puncture aluminum foil. After 2 1/2 hours check to see if they are done by sticking a fork between 2 bones and giving it a twist, if they are tender they are done, if not continue cooking, checking them every 15 minutes until done. Carefully, remove from oven, drain grease off and slather ribs with BIG JAKE'S North Woods Style BBQ Sauce. Turn oven to broil and place the ribs back in the oven about 10" under broiler and broil for 10-12 minutes for a crispy finish.
Remove from broiler, let sit about 10 minutes and serve ~enjoy!

Dish - "Say it ain't so Joe" & "Now there you go again." That is what Sarah Palin said to Joe Biden last night as they held their first-ever Vice Presidential debate. I found both VP candidates to be rather charming at times. Joe Biden was the polite, endearing, professional, articulate and didn't have any "blunders" that he would have to clear up and he also displayed a human side as he chocked up about his family. Sarah Palin was charming, stood her ground, and even managed to point out a few short comings about Biden's running mates inability to admit certain things, she considers to be true.

The verdict is in: Joe Biden has won the VP Debate; Sarah Palin has won the VP Debate. That depends on which channel you watch, of course. CNN will declare victory for Biden and Fox will declare the victory for Palin. Is that your final answer? Who are we to believe? We will just have to wait and see when this all plays out on November 4Th to see what the final answer is. But, I for one, enjoyed this debate more than the Presidential Debate. Maybe these 2 should be running for the top spot, they were able to conduct themselves with respect, and despite their obvious differences actually displayed a fondness for each other that is lacking in politics.

Embellish - Let's open our minds to the possibility of what can be.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Stacy!
