She sells seashells by the seashore

Food - She sells seashells by the seashore...not exactly, but we did pick them up. Many questions were raised by my 8 year old niece, Emily, as to what each shells name is, what may have lived in them, how they were brought to shore with nothing in them, etc. So, much research followed via the almighty Internet. It was a good project for her and I to do together, she enjoyed matching the shells we had found to those pictured on the Internet and it gave me a good chance to hear her read out loud. Unfortunately, no money was made, but it was priceless!

But as we were picking them up, I could not help but think of how shells are much like humans and other spieces known to men. They come in all different sizes, colors, shapes and textures. Some of them are so minut in size that they seem almost inconsiquenstial. But like humans, we all serve a purpose in this world.

What do these shells have to do with food? Nothing. Because clearly, we do not eat any of the food that would come from these, but they reseamble those found in the Fresh Waters or Salt Waters that we do eat. Below is a recipe for Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo that I have adapted from a meal we had aboard a cruise to the Caribbeans.

Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo (serves 6)
Ingredients:
1 - 1 1/2 lbs fettuccine
6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. heavy cream
1 egg yolk
6 tbsp. parmesan cheese
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 lb. med. shrimp, peeled and deveined.

Clean and boil shrimp (or you can sautee shrimp in 1tbsp. butter and 4 cloves of garlic, if you prefer,) drain and set aside. Melt butter in a lg. sautee pan and add the freshly cooked al dente Fettuccine, toss gently with two forks till the pasta is well coated with butter.
Add a mixture of heavy cream and egg yolk, sprinkle the grated paresan cheese, salt and peppr and blend well. Allow to thicken, if needed. Add cooked/sauteed shrimp and serve immediately.

Dish - Have you seen all the stars that are wasting away? What is going on? Do they not eat? As some of them claim; "I am naturally thin, and I eat whatever I want." Funny thing, I remember some of these same stars, not so thin just a few years ago. Did their metabolism suddenly change? Or are they simply starving themselves? Or they claim: "I work out alot so I can eat whatever I want." OKAY, if you say so. And what is it with these "new" mothers who are a size 0 right after the births of the babies? And all of them have perfect stomachs too?
Kim Kardashin states that people think she is heavier than she actually is -- a whopping 115 pounds, wow!

Embellish - Always be ready to have the time of your life!
